Hot takes from a registered dietitian. 🚨 If dieting has left you overwhelmed or confused about what to eat, that’s diet culture doing what it does best. The good news is there is a way out and anti-diet registered dietitians can help. I’m accepting new telehealth clients in Massachusetts — DM me to book a free call 💬

Diet culture teaches us control = health. But when control includes restricting foods, we often get trapped in the binge-restrict cycle, feeling out of control around certain foods when we eat them. If you’re afraid you won’t stop eating sweets once you allow them, that doesn’t mean intuitive eating won’t work for you. It usually just means you’ve been restricting.

Diet culture teaches us to moralize food, but food isn’t “good” or “bad.” When we stop eating for rules and start eating for satisfaction, nourishment, and trust, everything shifts. 🤍✨

Sugar in fruit isn’t a problem. Fruit comes with vitamins and minerals plus fiber, which slows blood sugar spikes. Higher fruit intake is linked to better heart, gut, and metabolic health.
