This weekend…

Both our Boston and Worcester Service Warriors paused to celebrate just how far they’ve come as they participated in their Mid- Year Reflection Leadership Development Day.

Warriors looked back on the service projects they’ve completed, the skills they’ve built, and the growth they’ve shown throughout the year.

They also spent time setting new goals, recognizing the ones they’ve already achieved, and gearing up for the meaningful work still ahead.

Go Service Warriors!

On Friday, the disability community, and the world, lost Alice Wong, a force for justice who paved the way for all of us in the disability community. Her intersectional work to challenge ableism and uplift the voices of disabled women, disabled people of color, and q***r disabled people has forever changed our world and shown many of us, as disabled leaders, how this work should be done.

We are forever grateful for Alice’s leadership, mentorship, and advocacy.

Alice, it is because of you and the other leaders who have come before us that we are able to do this work, and we are so grateful for all you have done. We hope you rest easy knowing that there is a generation of fierce disabled warriors ready to carry on your legacy.

Happy everyone! Today, we want to highlight Service Warrior alumni who volunteered to help EPIC staff in their creation of a training where participants learn and practice the important components of asking for accommodations at work, home and/or school.

The development of the training was significantly strengthened thanks to the feedback and questions of the alumni. Therefore, EPIC is grateful for your time and energy; Austin (’14, ’19), Tatiana (’19, ’24), Sam (’14, ’17), Miranda (’20, ’23), and Katie (’20, ’21)!

Last weekend…

Boston Service Warriors came together for a Disability Pride Panel and Project Planning Service Day.

Service Warriors discussed the importance of accessibility, explored different disability icons, and painted canvases reflecting what matters most to them.

In the afternoon, they brainstormed community issues they’re passionate about changing and began planning their next service projects to create impact.
Thank you, Service Warriors, for your continued commitment to building a legacy of inclusion and leadership.
