National coverage is highlighting what home care providers are facing every day. A recent Washington Post report points to rising demand, funding pressure, and workforce shortages that continue to strain access to care.

As Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts CEO Jake Krilovich told the Post, after Massachusetts raised its minimum wage, “we saw a lot of the workforce migrate as a result of that,” with aides leaving caregiving for higher-paying entry-level jobs.

Government funding cuts, caregiver shortages and immigration limits are adding new strains to an industry that’s already hard-pressed to meet demand.
