Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
Love should never feel scary, controlling, or painful.
Teen dating violence isn’t always physical. It can look like constant monitoring, jealousy disguised as care, pressure, isolation from friends, emotional manipulation, or fear of speaking up. These behaviors can deeply impact a teen’s mental health, self-worth, and sense of safety.
Many teens don’t realize what they’re experiencing is abuse—and many are afraid to talk about it.
At MV Mending Minds, we believe awareness is prevention.
Having open conversations, recognizing early warning signs, and reminding teens that healthy relationships are built on respect, trust, and choice can save lives.
If you’re a parent, caregiver, educator, or trusted adult:
• Listen without judgment
• Validate their feelings
• Encourage support early
• Remind them they are never alone
Love shouldn’t hurt.
Support should feel safe.
Help is always available.
If you or someone you know needs support, reach out.
Healing starts with being heard.
