To close out our series, we’re honoring Black leaders who champion the evidence-based Centering group care model.
Kia Hollis, CNM — A certified nurse-midwife at Mercy Medical Center, Kia is known for her deep commitment to serving Black families through relationship-based care, using the Centering group care model to build trust, connection and patient confidence.
Pamela Griffin Pettis, MD — An obstetrician-gynecologist and long-standing advocate for group care, Dr. Pettis has helped advance compassionate, patient-centered maternity care through the Centering model while contributing to the growth and legacy of the model in practice.
Jyesha Wren, CNM — A midwife, advocate, and community leader, Jyesha has championed the Centering group care model to bring shared learning, community, and whole-person support to life for expectant families.
Together, their leadership reflects the heart of this series, honoring Black leaders whose work continues to influence how maternal health care is practiced and experienced.
We hope you have enjoyed our series this month and are inspired by all of the leaders we have featured just as much as we are.
