Lauren Connolly was unanimously selected as Employee of the Month by members of the leadership team and several resident family members. Lauren truly exemplifies the values and mission of the German Centre, and this recognition is long overdue.

She is the go-to person on campus for almost everything, especially on the TCU. Many voters shared the same sentiment: *“She does it all.”* From IT and social services to maintenance, housekeeping, meal assistance, nursing support, phone calls, and even fixing Kindles, Lauren is always ready to help. Others noted that *“She does the work of ten people.”*

Lauren consistently demonstrates expertise, patience, kindness, compassion, and exceptional skill in all that she does.

Please join us in celebrating and recognizing Lauren as an outstanding member of our team.

Annual Veterans Day program at German Centre Brought Together Residents, City and State Officials, Community Members and News Media

Tuesday, we were proud to host our 15th Annual Veterans Day Celebration, a heartfelt tradition that brings together residents, families, local leaders, and community partners to honor the brave men and women who have served our country.

The morning began with warm refreshments and a beautiful speaking program led by Executive Director Sean O’Grady. Minister Melvin Murphy opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moving National Anthem performed by the Roxbury Latin Latonics. Commander Richard Gormley and V.F.W. Post 2902 delivered a powerful Honor Guard Salute, and Reverend James Butler offered an inspiring invocation.

We were honored to welcome an incredible lineup of speakers, including:
• State Senator Mike Rush
• Sergeant John Downey & Nicole England from the West Roxbury Police Department
• City Councilor Ben Weber
• State Representative William MacGregor
• Emily Shea, Age Strong Commissioner
• Commander Sergeant Major Michael Murphy
• Ruthzee Louijeune, Boston City Council President
• Jared Estrada, Office of Veterans Affairs

Our keynote speakers, Congressman Stephen F. Lynch and Vietnam Veteran & Author Michael Cunningham, shared inspiring words about service, sacrifice, and the meaning of community.

The celebration concluded with Minister Melvin Murphy’s beautiful rendition of God Bless America, closing the ceremony with pride and gratitude.

Thank you to all who joined us, participated, and helped make this event so meaningful.
And to our veterans, we honor you today and every day.

A Sunday Full of Smiles at Edelweiss Village!

We love seeing the next generation get involved in our community. The granddaughter of one of our residents—and her friend—spent their Sunday afternoon volunteering at Edelweiss Village Assisted Living, leading a lively game of LCR with our residents.

Their kindness, laughter, and energy brought so much joy to everyone in the room. Moments like these remind us how special it is when families and young people share their time with our residents.

Thank you both for making the day extra bright!
