Closing out our Cooking with Confidence miniseries! Our final recipe of the evening was Ratatouille — thankfully without a tiny mouse under the chef’s hat pulling the strings! We wrapped up the night with healthy cooking, teamwork, lots of laughs, and great conversations. It was wonderful to see everyone learning, connecting, and having fun in the kitchen together.

Thank you to everyone who followed along with our mini‑series. We hope you enjoyed the recipes and the moments shared, and we look forward to bringing more community‑centered events your way!

This month marks 10 years of Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month, and it’s always been about community.

For a decade, BDAM has been a time to come together, share our stories, and show up for one another. Long before the meetings, the advocacy, and the progress, there was community.

As we begin this year’s BDAM, we honor where we started and the people who made it possible.

Because this community has always shown up for each other and for change.

March 1st is Von Willebrand Disease (VWD) awareness day! 100 years ago in 1926 Erik von Willebrand, a Finnish doctor, described this condition as VWD affecting the ability of blood to clot and can lead to hard-to-stop, heavy bleeding.

🩸 In von Willebrand disease either there are low levels of that protein in the blood or the protein isn’t working as it should.

🩸 VWD is the most common inherited bleeding disorder affecting 1% of the U.S. population. Meaning about 1 in every 100 people in the U.S. have VWD. However, it can go undiagnosed by overlooking or dismissing the symptoms. Recognizing the common signs and symptoms can lead to earlier testing, diagnosis, and access to treatment.
