How does a project as significant as “Nunaka: My Village” come to life? Created in collaboration with Chugachmiut and FableVision, “Nunaka” is a story-based learning game designed for Sugpiaq preschoolers to learn about Sugpiaq culture and the Alaskan Native Sugt’stun language. This game recently completed a 10-month intergenerational co-design second phase, co-led by iThrive Games and FableVision, that included teens, Elders, and preschoolers from the Chugach region.

FableVision sat down with the team of creators and leaders of this co-design process, Angelina Kalunka Roehl (Chugachmiut), Jane Lee and Susan Rivers (iThrive Games), and Gary Goldberger and Jonah Gaynor (FableVision Studios), to discuss the importance of “Nunaka,” why co-design is so important, and more! https://www.fablevisionstudios.com/blog/next-chapter-nunaka
