Pediatric ENT at Tufts Medical Center

Pediatric ENT at Tufts Medical Center Dr. Andrew R. Scott, Dr. Mark Vecchiotti and Dr. Alexander Marston are fellowship-trained pediatric Or maybe it’s a cleft lip that needs corrective surgery.

At the Pediatric ENT and Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Division at Floating Hospital in Boston, we provide expert, specialized and personalized care for ear, nose and throat conditions and advanced procedures for cleft lip and cleft palate. Improving the Quality of Your Child’s Life

It could be a chronic ear infection that keeps coming back. When your child is sick or in distress, you want the best care possible without having to drive all over town. Fortunately we offer capabilities far beyond the typical ENT (ear, nose and throat) practice. Our team treats the complete range of ENT disorders, from nasal and sinus conditions to vocal disorders and speech problems. We also specialize in the latest procedures to correct disorders that, once treated, can dramatically impact the quality of your child’s life, such as cleft lip, cleft palate and neck and head abnormalities. For you and your child, this means one trip to our downtown Boston location, instead of multiple trips to specialists at various clinics and offices.

This evening they shut off the lights on the pediatric inpatient floors of Floating 7, Pedi BMT and the PICU. This is the end of an era; a 125 year era, of providing state of the art, exceptional care to the children of Boston and New England and beyond.
But we want to reiterate that although many of the inpatient beds have closed, Pediatric Anesthesia is still here, and we in Pediatric ENT remain as busy as ever. We continue to perform delicate and complex surgeries on our NICU patients as well as lots of ambulatory surgeries on older children. When kids need to spend the night we are taking them to other facilities where we operate and we are still their surgeons.
We have worked hard with our partners in other disciplines to assure that we will still be able to effectively run our multidisciplinary teams, including cochlear implant, craniofacial, cleft, and vascular anomalies clinics. We are excited to see all of you in the near future for your regularly scheduled follow up visits.

As highlighted in this billboard, Pediatric ENT has been an integral part of Tufts Medical Center throughout its history. The irony of using an image of children receiving ENT care to advertise for a medical center that is downsizing its pediatric services is not lost on us. Nevertheless, we remain open and busy and will continue to care for the children of Boston, New England and beyond at TMC as long as we are able to do so.
Given the medical complexity of our practice, many of the bigger surgeries we perform require an intensive care unit admission and/or an overnight stay postoperatively. After July 1st we may be bringing these types of procedures to a different facility, but it will still be Drs. Marston, Scott, and Vecchiotti who perform them.
We remain fiercely dedicated to our patients and their families; we aren’t going anywhere.
