It’s Marathon Monday! Best of luck to all the runners participating in the Boston Marathon today. 🏃‍♂️👏🏅

Matthew is a former Shriners Children's Boston patient and burn survivor who fulfilled his dream of running the Boston Marathon. When the COVID-19 pandemic forced the postponement of the marathon in 2020, organizers reimagined the beloved race.

Qualified participants like Matthew created their own routes, finish lines and race days. Matthew’s race ended right outside Shriners Children’s Boston, where he received care as a young boy for third-degree burn injuries.

April is National Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month.

Shriners Children's Boston is paying tribute to one of our former patients, Juan Diego, who received a life-changing graduation gift as he transitioned out of care. Juan Diego was provided with a state-of-the-art partial prosthetic hand that is helping him regain greater independence in his daily life.
