Applications are now open! The Massachusetts Dietitians Education Foundation (MDEF) 2026 Scholarship Cycle is now open for applications. MDEF provides scholarships to outstanding individuals seeking undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and dietetic internships in the field of nutrition. This year MDEF will be awarding THREE $1,000 MDEF scholarships, and ONE $1,500 Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) Scholarship. The Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (MAND) is committed to strengthening public health and elevating dietetics professionals as evidence-based leaders in food and nutrition with our 2026-2030 Strategic Plan.

Our strategic goals focus on:
• Increasing public awareness of the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as the trusted authority in nutrition
• Advocating for policies that expand access to nutrition care and programs
• Supporting the growth, leadership, and development of dietetics professionals

The Strategic Plan was developed after MAND administered surveys and conducted focus groups. We highly value all membership feedback and will be working on the priorities expressed by our members.

Together, we’re working toward a future where every Massachusetts resident has equitable access to nutrition care and dietitians are recognized as essential healthcare professionals.

Members of MAND gathered at the Massachusetts State House for Day on the Hill this week, meeting with legislators to talk about the impact of dietitians and the importance of nutrition in improving health across Massachusetts.
