Took this photo tonight with my acne and blemish removal spot treatm3nt on. 🏳️‍🌈

A few months out from my last cycle and the active breakouts are almost gone — mostly fading marks now.

I still have some raised bumps here and there, so I hit those with a sulfur + salicylic acid drying lotion overnight.

One thing cycles taught me: skin issues don’t explode overnight — they build gradually.

Your body can handle it for a while, but eventually there is a tipping point where it snowballs.

Knowing what I know now, I’ll be way further ahead of this next time, adjusting earlier instead of reacting later.

It won’t fix the root cause alone, but it can help control flare-ups faster while you handle the bigger picture.

This morning I 🏳️‍🌈 caught myself thinking 💭
“Why am I choosing to be stressed right now?”

I was on the way to my blood lab appointment for my cycle.

I hadn’t set my alarm the way I meant to. ⏰
I didn’t have as much time as I wanted.
And I was trying to figure out an important money move last minute — something I felt like I urgently needed to make work.

Nothing catastrophic 💀

But my nervous system didn’t know that.

On the way there I kept telling myself,
“You don’t have to choose stress.”
“Relax.”
“It’s fine.”

In the waiting room, I was still trying to figure it out on my phone while trying to listen to her talk.

Calming down didn’t fully land yet…

You know when it finally worked?

On the drive home.

Once I stopped figuring out how to make parking work.
Once I stopped trying to solve the loan thing.
Once I stopped making sure I answered everything perfectly and didn’t miss anything.

Once I got in the car and just… stopped engaging.

I felt so comfortable in my seat.
So relaxed in my car.

It felt like I was actually enjoying the quiet and the luxury of it — something I probably don’t even notice when I’m busy trying to solve something.

That’s when it clicked.

Sometimes the way to think better
isn’t to think better.

It’s to stop interacting with the stressor. ☀️

We do this everywhere.

In fitness — researching instead of training.
In relationships — overanalyzing instead of letting the moment breathe.
In money — trying to calculate every outcome instead of making one clean move.

Sometimes the calmer option
is disengagement.

Why wasn’t I picking the easier option?

Now I am.

And that’s the upgrade.

You need self-permission.

I’ve noticed something lately — when I make content and feel even slightly uncertain, I start trying to explain everything.

More context.
More angles.
More clarification.

I try to make sure no one misunderstands and that everyone gets it before I hit post.

But the guys who are meant to get it… get it fast.

And the ones who don’t?
More info doesn’t fix that.

And I realized something — it’s the same pattern I see in fitness.

Some guys want to know the subtle difference between every machine, every handle, every variation — before even getting to that exercise. 🏋🏻

Some want to learn every lab marker before focusing on the ones that are actually out of range.🧪

It’s not that those questions are bad.

They’re just early.

In my case, I was doing extra work before posting.
In theirs, they’re doing extra work before starting.

Different surface behavior.
Same root instinct.

Trying to eliminate uncertainty before moving.

But the guys who actually change their bodies don’t wait until every variable is perfectly understood.

They pick a direction. 👉🏼
They execute.
They adjust as they go.

The guys who stay stuck usually aren’t lacking information.

They’re seeking certainty instead of granting themselves permission.
