MOAR - Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery

MOAR - Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery Our DEI Statement: MOAR is a voice for all people seeking the benefits of recovery.
(1)

Our Mission: To organize recovering individuals, families and friends into a collective voice to educate the public about the value of recovery from alcohol and other addictions. Our Vision: MOAR envisions a society where addiction is treated as a significant public health issue and recovery is recognized as valuable to all our communities. We are committed to doing the work necessary to address the struggles and inequities diverse groups of people face while seeking recovery services. Systemic racism, prejudice, and bias have been deeply ingrained in the history of the American health care system. MOAR is committed to work to create a collective voice for those seeking recovery for all people who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and oppressed.

Thousands in MA working toward recovery are incarcerated for relapse while on pretrial release or probation, disrupting treatment and reinforcing the cycle of addiction.

Have you been impacted by this issue? Your experience can help inform policy and make a real difference.

We’re collecting anonymous stories—short blurbs or longer reflections—to help lawmakers understand the real-world impact of their decisions.
✨ No names required
✨ Share only what you’re comfortable with

Together, we can ensure that people fighting addiction are given the chance they deserve to recover without the threat of incarceration hanging over them.
