Prof. Jerry Chen of department speaks on topic of next Lunch Seminar Series, "The brain is one of the most complex biological systems known in nature. A challenge for making sense of this complexity is determining at which scale of observation this system should be studied at, whether it be at the level of individual synapses, neurons, circuits, or the entire brain. In this talk, I will describe work using optical techniques where we seek to bridge these levels of observations. In doing so, we hope to reveal principles that may explain the underlying function of the nervous system."
