The online part of the Blue Skies Challenge is 100% open to the public and they do need to register in order to receive the Zoom link. Once registered (FREE), they will receive an email with the information to join the Zoom.

It’s easy please register and receive the link and log on before 6 (5:30 is best you will be waiting, but we want to make sure you get in.)

Hello colleagues, our very own Dr. Ellen Bubrick, is a finalist for the Epilepsy Foundation of New England’s Blue Sky Challenge tomorrow evening. If she wins, Ellen will receive $75,000.00 to continue her work on developing low dose focused ultrasound (LIFUS) for treatment of focal epilepsy. Her research is beginning to be noticed nationally and we are really excited for the prospect of her winning. The catch, to win she needs the most votes! Every vote counts- including YOURS. To be eligible to vote, you have to join on the zoom link below tomorrow at 6PM ET. She is up first, but I’m not sure exactly what time the vote for her session is. The good news is that there are only 3 people for her section and she has a 1/3 chance if she gets the most votes. I will be there in person. If you can remember to leave your computer on in the background, you can probably multitask and VOTE ELLEN BUBRICK- LIFUS to treat epilepsy. Thanks for considering. Send on to your friends, your children. No zoom bombers though. You may need to register. Ellen is doing all this while attending on the busy neurology ward service.
Thanks for considering,

You're invited to see the top minds in epilepsy care & treatment as they pitch their innovative and life-changing ideas to a panel of judges. The winner will receive funding to bring their research project to life. As an audience member, you too will get the opportunity to vote on your fav...

Nice video on one of our essential tremor patients

Duane Schmidt had a tremor so severe it made simple tasks like drinking coffee or buttoning his shirt difficult. Then, he learned about a procedure performed at Brigham and Women’s Hospital that could improve his quality of life.

Today the Brigham and Women's Hospital Department of Neurosurgery became the FIRST program in the country to perform 100 Focused Ultrasound treatments! Congratulations to Dr. Cosgrove and team! 👏🎉💯

“The beauty of the procedure is that the patient does not require any general anesthesia and it does not require any incision in the scalp or hole in the skull, so it is completely non-invasive.” – Dr. G. Rees Cosgrove
