Think of nutrition like packing for a flight…

Skip the prep, and things can get uncomfortable fast. Pack the right essentials, and your trip is way more turbulence-free 🧳✨

Here are a few of my go-to “travel-smart nutrition” tips:

1️⃣ Fuel before you fly

Skipping meals before travel often leads to low energy, bloating, and “why do I feel awful already?” moments. Balanced meals = better stamina for beach walks, excursions, and late dinners 🌮🏖️

2️⃣ Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate 💧

Planes are very dehydrating. Bring a refillable water bottle and sip often — staying hydrated helps prevent headaches, fatigue, bloating, and that post-flight blah feeling. Just remember, it must be EMPTY to pass through TSA!

3️⃣ Pack nutrition like a carry-on

Protein, fiber, and hydration are your must-haves. When your body feels supported, indulgences feel fun — not punishing 🍹

4️⃣ Ditch the all-or-nothing mindset

Vacations aren’t about “being good.” They’re about feeling good. My clients learn how to enjoy food and come home feeling energized — not inflamed or defeated 🌊

These easy pivots removed two huge barriers—distance and finances—and allowed me to help so many more people access personalized, evidence-based nutrition care.

It also gave me the ability to fully integrate the advanced inflammation testing I trained for, which has been a game-changer for clients struggling with diabetes, cholesterol issues, joint pain, and chronic inflammation.

Seeing people finally get relief—and feel heard—has completely transformed how I show up in my business.

Soooo… let’s talk bread storage 🍞 🥖 🥯

You may have heard that freezing bread can help improve blood sugar response by increasing resistant starch when it’s frozen (and even more when toasted after).

But here’s the honest dietitian answer:
🥖 For some people, it can slightly help blood sugars
🥖 For others, the difference is minimal. 🥖 Portion size, toppings, overall meal balance, and your individual metabolism matter way more
