One of those rainy nights, full of 🌧
Thought I’d share the play-by-play in case this happens to you…
530PM - Hear a hissing sound coming from my tire.
There’s a NAIL in the tire, and It’s flat, so I can’t drive to pick up London... (Already running late) 🏃🏻♀️
5:35 - Consider a taxi, but my neighbor does me a big up and orders me an from her account ❤️
5:40 - Call from the Uber… in order to know which kind of vehicle to send, They need to know:
(a) Do I have a spare tire? and
(b) Where do I want the car towed if not.
(I don’t know these answers- so I just request a tow truck to be safe.
Meanwhile, I like to see things from multiple angles, so I use my and text friends…
- My father, and his handyman, Tim (a former submarine engineer who can fix ANYTHING)
- Tim sends a Youtube video on how to access the spare tire, which is actually BELOW the car, and accessible from a series of pulls and k***s when you lift the panel in the trunk).
7ish - Ron arrives from AAA and helps me get the spare tire.
But after 1.5 hours of shenanigans, it’s clear: the tire is rusted, doesn’t have enough air, and just won’t work.
(Lesson: Have a proper spare tire!) 🛞
- I Text my supremely smart and talented homegirl and she gives me further advice about tires, cars, and options
- Must make sure any new tire put on the axel is the same size, to not mess with the alignment and transmission. ✅
8:30 pm-ish - Ron tows London and I to Shop in Dorchester.
- They “PLUG” the hole in the tire … and I’m able to drive home.
(For $10 … Best Deal in Town!)
Phewf.
Throughout this fun-filled three hours, I noticed my tendency to get ahead of myself, and bug out along the way…. Thinking ten steps ahead… but, all the WRONG steps!
Being a new experience, my mind played multiple scenarios.
But, as always, the BEST thing to do?
Oh ya, and
😍😍😍😍👍
