The US Post Offices dataset was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock. It is a spatial‑historical collection containing records for 166,140 post offices that operated in the United States between 1639 and 2000. The maps showing the expansion of post offices over time are particularly fascinating.

We are also excited to announce the 2026 keynote address by Elizabeth Merritt, VP Strategic Foresight and Founding Director, Center for the Future of Museums, an initiative of the American Alliance of Museums. Her exciting keynote description is below:

Transforming the Future:

America is entering a period of rapid, transformative change. AI is expected to transmute the nature of labor, for good or for ill. Communities are scrambling to respond to escalating environmental challenges, from extreme heat to rising sea level. New forms of digital currency are disrupting traditional financial structures and amplifying inequities of wealth. Unprecedented shifts in government policy may change the very nature of the nonprofit sector. But the future has yet to be written and we, as individuals, organizations, communities, and a nation, have the power to influence the next chapter of America’s history. How can museums activate their power to shape a better future for our communities, and our country?
