Meet Our Instructors: Morgyne English

Morgyne is a dynamic Pilates instructor whose journey reflects her passion for movement and well-being. While rehabilitating her sports injuries, Morgyne decided to pursue certification and share that impact with others. Whether you’re new to Pilates, returning to movement, or looking to enhance performance, Morgyne’s classes will leave you feeling empowered and inspired.

Q. What inspired you to start Classical Pilates?
When I was living in Dallas I started at a megaformer studio. After a couple of classes I noticed that my body was feeling not so great. I had back pain and was also getting motion sickness from the classes. After some research I found a Classical studio and everything took off from there.

Q. What brought you to Boston?
I am originally from Oklahoma. I moved out to Boston to attend Wellesley College.

Q. Outside of Pilates, what are some of your hobbies?
Spending time with my husband and my six month old daughter.

Q. What is your favorite Pilates exercise and why?
I love short spine massage. Being a new mom comes with a ton of back and shoulder pain and the spinal articulation in short spine provides great relief.

Q. If you could spend a day with one famous person, who would it be and why?
I wish I had some deep intellectual answer for this question, but I would have to say Kris Jenner. She is one of the most fascinating human beings. Her family functions as a unit and she is a very business minded individual.

Q. What advice would you give to new moms looking to start a Pilates practice?
There is never a bad time to start. You can do pilates up until you give birth. I had a lot of discomfort postpartum that started to go away as soon as I started pilates again (once I was cleared medically of course). I would also say that our bodies are so so delicate postpartum so you should be very intentional about where/who you are training with. Our instructors have a lot of knowledge when it comes to postpartum bodies, their restrictions, and considerations that should be made for new moms. Make sure that you go to someone that knows what they are doing.
