A Major VBHC Implementation Milestone in Saudi Arabia 🌎

Tawuniya - التعاونية للتأمين and are partnering with ICHOM Implementation Partner The Clinician to advance value-based healthcare from strategy to operational delivery in the Kingdom.

This initiative deploys The Clinician’s platform to streamline the collection, analysis and utilization of PROMs for Diabetes and Low Back Pain using the ICHOM Sets of Patient-Centered Outcome Measures, while also becoming the first organization in Saudi Arabia to implement the OECD PaRIS framework for evaluating primary care effectiveness.

By building the digital and clinical infrastructure required to measure patient outcomes consistently and at scale, this partnership establishes a nationally relevant blueprint for delivering VBHC in alignment with Vision 2030’s health transformation goals.

The Obesity Learning Collaborative unites healthcare providers, systems, and stakeholders who are implementing, or preparing to implement, the ICHOM Obesity Set of Patient-Centered Outcome Measures. Its purpose is to support real-world learning, enable shared understanding of what drives better outcomes, and build a global community committed to more effective, patient-focused obesity care.

The collaboration with The Lynch Foundation helps expand this work, ensuring that organizations facing significant public health challenges have the tools, knowledge, and support needed to improve care for people living with obesity.

We’re grateful for their partnership and the impact it will help create as this Collaborative grows.

We’re developing a new ICHOM Bladder Cancer Set, and we’re inviting patient representatives to join the working group 💡

Bladder cancer continues to place a significant burden on individuals and health systems worldwide.
• Around 614,000 new cases were diagnosed globally last year.
• Nearly 2 million people are living within five years of a diagnosis.
• Up to 70 percent of patients with non–muscle-invasive disease experience recurrence, leading to repeated procedures and long-term follow-up.

These realities underscore why patient perspectives are essential. To design a Set that reflects meaningful outcomes, we need the insight of those who understand the impact of this disease firsthand.

By joining the Patient Working Group, you will help shape a global framework used to assess and improve bladder cancer care, ensuring it captures what truly matters to patients.

If you have lived experience with bladder cancer and would like to contribute, we invite you to apply. For questions or to express your interest, please contact the Project Manager, Christina Nielsen, at c.nielsen@ichom.org.

We’re one week away from a conversation that brings together leading voices in trauma outcomes. 🔗 Register your free place: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_vZQFjwmcSl-IEsGkROCj2A

This session will walk through the new ICHOM Major Injury (MJI) Outcome Set and the broader effort to strengthen trauma care by looking beyond survival alone. We’re pleased to be joined by Belinda Gabbe, Henk Van der Wal, Umanga de Silva and Grace Jennings, who will each offer insight into the evidence, methodology and practical considerations behind developing and implementing this work.

The discussion will explore how consistent, patient-centered outcomes can support improvement across both high-resource systems and low- and middle-income settings.

If you are working to advance trauma care and want a clear, meaningful look at how outcomes measurement can guide that progress, this session is an important one to attend.

Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS), an ICHOM Leadership Partner and Platinum Sponsor, is driving serious progress toward outcomes-focused care.

In this spotlight, Pongtorn Kietdumrongwong, Health Research Center Director and Project Management Director, breaks down why listening to patients isn’t optional anymore and why real transformation demands both cultural change and integrated data.

BDMS is already putting this into practice with 11 ICHOM Sets implemented across their hospitals, showing what committed, system-wide adoption looks like.

We’re honoured to work alongside BDMS as they push healthcare toward measurable outcomes and a stronger patient voice.

Value-based healthcare only matters when the people living the reality of illness are truly heard 📢

For , we’re sharing the voice of Kevin Wake - ICHOM Board Member and President of the Uriel E. Owens Sickle Cell Disease Association of the Midwest. Kevin’s story is a reminder of what this work is really about. He speaks honestly about living with sickle cell disease, the barriers patients face, and why patient-reported outcome measures aren’t just data points. They’re dignity. They’re visibility. They’re the foundation of care that responds to real lives.

This is exactly why ICHOM’s mission needs support. Standardized outcomes, community-driven insights and global collaboration don’t happen on goodwill alone. Donations fuel the development of outcomes Sets, expand access for clinicians and patient groups, and help ensure voices like Kevin’s are not only heard but acted on.

If today is about giving with purpose, this is where it counts 💚
