Voice of the Patient, an ICHOM Knowledge Partner, highlights how patient-reported measures can strengthen primary healthcare by bringing the patient perspective alongside clinical outcomes and cost data.

Their latest article explores how listening to patients supports more holistic, patient-centered care and helps drive progress toward value-based healthcare.

By measuring what matters most to patients, healthcare systems can improve quality, decision-making, and long-term outcomes across primary care.

Liver disease affects millions of people worldwide and is responsible for around 2 million deaths each year. Despite this, many health systems still focus on measuring processes of care rather than the outcomes that matter most to patients.

This creates a gap in how care is understood and improved.

ICHOM is developing a new Liver Disease Set to define a standardized set of outcomes for treatment and care. This includes clinical outcomes as well as symptoms, daily impact and quality of life.

To ensure these outcomes reflect what matters most, we are inviting people with lived experience of liver disease based in the UK, US, New Zealand and Malaysia to review and validate the proposed Set.

Your input will help shape how outcomes are measured and used to improve care globally.

Digital health adoption is accelerating, but proving real impact on patient outcomes and linking that to reimbursement remains a challenge.

Join ICHOM and the Peterson Health Technology Institute (PHTI) for a practical discussion on how performance-based contracts can better connect digital health to outcomes that matter.

Hear from Jennifer Bright, Zofia Das Gupta, Gabriela Prada, Meg Barron, and Jessica Jackson as they unpack the gap between adoption and impact, and what needs to change to make these models work in practice.

If you work in digital health, policy, or value-based care, this session focuses on what’s actually being implemented, not just discussed.

We are proud to share that the ICHOM has officially released the new Kidney Stones Set.

Standardizing how we measure success is the first step toward true value-based healthcare.

This new set identifies the outcomes that matter most to patients, moving beyond clinical metrics to capture the full patient experience, including:

✅ Pain management
✅ Urinary and stent symptom relief
✅ Treatment success and stone-free status
✅ Unplanned medical encounters

Developed by a global working group of clinicians, researchers and patients, this Set provides a roadmap for providers worldwide to improve quality of life for those living with kidney stones.

We extend a sincere thank you to Set sponsors Novo Nordisk Nordisk and the Michigan Urological Surgery Improvement Collaborative (MUSIC) for their invaluable support.

We also gratefully acknowledge Coloplast for their sponsorship of this initiative through an investigator-initiated study grant. This collaborative effort is essential in bringing global standards to renal, urogenital care.

What matters most to people living with liver disease?

At ICHOM, we are working with patients, clinicians, and global experts to develop the first comprehensive, patient-centered Set for Chronic Liver Disease, and we need to hear directly from patients to ensure we get it right.

This , we’re inviting individuals living with liver disease to take part in our Patient Validation Survey. Your perspectives will help shape which outcomes should be measured worldwide, from quality of life and functioning to disease progression and symptoms.

Why this matters:
🔹 Ensure outcomes reflect what truly matters to patients
🔹 Support more patient-centered care globally
🔹 Help standardize outcomes across liver disease care and research
🔹 Amplify the patient voice in healthcare decision-making

If you or someone you know is living with liver disease in the UK, US, New Zealand, or Malaysia, we would greatly value your input.

At , we’re bringing that question to the forefront.

For the first time, the ICHOM Annual Conference is coming to Montréal, Canada on 7-9 December.

Over 800 leaders across healthcare will come together to show how outcomes data and PROMs are being used in practice, and where AI is already making a difference.

Expect real-world case studies, unfiltered discussions, and practical insights on how outcomes data and AI are shaping better, more efficient care.

At ICHOM, our mission is to support healthcare systems in measuring and improving the outcomes that matter most to patients.

That’s why partnerships matter. We’re proud to highlight as a long-standing partner driving real-world implementation of value-based healthcare.

Through its 360-degree interoperable agentic platform, ViHA, Capadev focuses on a simple principle: outcomes data should work for clinicians, not add to their burden.

This goes beyond data collection and interoperability. It means delivering clinically meaningful, actionable insights that are easy to access and use:

✅ Customizable care pathways embedded into workflows, with ready-to-use outcomes libraries, including localized and validated PROMs across major conditions
✅ Advanced analytics and dashboards with clear scoring and interpretable insights
✅ Minimal Important Clinical Differences (MICD) to track progress against benchmarks
✅ Embedded predictive analytics and risk stratification to support early intervention
✅ Targeted clinical alerts and shared decision support to enable timely action

By prioritizing usability, clinical relevance, and seamless integration, Capadev is helping translate ICHOM Sets and other metrics into practical tools that support shared decision-making and improved patient outcomes.

We look forward to continuing this collaboration and accelerating the adoption of outcomes-based care globally.
