Job Title: Patient Healthcare Bill Cost Specialist
Job Summary: As a Remote Bill Cost Specialist, you will play a key role in paying various bill for patients in critical illness or injury when scheduled by contacting patients facility to verify and confirm the total billed amount and estimated total charges with accurate billing transparency.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive assigned patient bill schedules with payment amount and details such as patient name and contact information.
- Place outbound phone calls to financial department during assigned work hours to schedule payment.
- Follow provided payment protocols to professionally confirm the total sum charged for the patient's bill payment.
- Clearly document the confirmed total amount, date of confirmation, name of the patient, and any relevant notes or reference numbers.
- Report any issues (e.g., unable to reach department, additional documentation needed) promptly to your supervisor.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient health and financial information in compliance with regulations at all times.
- Meet daily/weekly call quotas and accuracy standards while delivering professional service.
- Update case status in our internal system after each confirmation.
- Participate in scheduled training sessions, team meetings, and quality audits.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent coursework in healthcare administration or business.
- Strong verbal communication skills (clear, polite, professional phone presence).
- Basic computer proficiency (email, web browsers, secure portals).
- Reliable high speed internet, quiet workspace.
- Ability to handle sensitive medical patient topics calmly.
- Detail oriented with good note-taking and documentation habits.
- Must pass a background check and compliance training.
Schedule & Compensation
- Flexible shifts available (morning, afternoon, or evening. Hospital business hours typically 8 AM – 5 PM).
- Performance bonuses or compensation may apply based on volume and accuracy.
