The Burnett Center provides classes to support social, recreational & skill building opportunities for adults (18+) with autism or other developmental disabilities. Our program and classes take into account diverse strengths and are organized into different levels (Level I, II and III) to better place adults among peers with similar interests and skills. Classes are suited for people who:
• Have autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities
• Are age 18 or older (students in a high school transition program are welcome)
• Want to take part in a supportive community of peers
• Want to build skills that promote independence, or engage in activities for socialization

Seattle Children’s Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center opened in January of 2014 to help meet the ever-growing needs of adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities as they transition out of the education system. The Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center offers year-round classes, activities and events providing social, recreational, independent living skill-building and vocational training opportunities for adults age 18 or older.

Music therapy at the Seattle Children’s Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center is designed to meet students where they are. 🎶

The program is adaptive, accessible, and responsive—using instruments, movement, and sound to support each student’s unique needs and strengths.

We’re grateful to music therapists Daniel D., Rachel C., and Rachel H., interviewed by BTS ARMY, for sharing how this work changes lives.

Last night, the City of Bothell honored the Seattle Children’s Alyssa Burnett Center with a proclamation recognizing Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

The proclamation was proudly accepted by longtime ABC students Sam and Maria alongside their families and the ABC community.💙

It was a meaningful evening celebrating inclusion, advocacy, and the incredible community that supports individuals with developmental disabilities.

Save the date for our ABC Community Resource Night on Friday March 27th from 6-8PM. This is an open community event where individuals, families, caregivers, and neighbors can connect with local organizations and learn about resources and services available to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

To make the evening even more fun, we’ll be hosting a scavenger hunt during the fair – participants who participate in it will be entered to win a prize at the end of the night!

Join us to explore resources, ask questions, and build community connections – we hope to see you there!
