"I KNOW my eye (or foot, or neck, or whatever) is trying to tell me something. I just don't know what it is."

The logical, conscious mind and the subconscious use two different parts of the brain. They speak different languages.

Instead of using your conscious mind to translate, why not ask your subconscious directly?

Injuries happen and they are likely from what you think they're from.

But there's a whole other world happening under the surface that's tied to old cellular memory, too.

Your body is designed to heal, but it's critical to address what slows, stagnates, or gets in the way of recovery.

I'm SO excited to be offering this workshop on April 18th, 2-4 pm MST, called "The Secret Teachings of Plants: Poetry and Play."

The course is inspired by Stephen Buhner's work, but this is *not* necessary reading for your attendance!

Whether you consider yourself a writer, poet, creative, outdoor enthusiast, or NONE of the above, no experience is necessary for this playful, experiential workshop on connecting our inner and outer landscapes.

Fun fact: Having grown up in the perpetual grey fog of the midwest, language was my gateway into the natural world. ☀️

The truth is...you don't really have to know "how" healing happens.

But most people, whether for comfort or control, cling to the need to know in states of stress.

This hangup is the exact thing keeping you from saying yes and taking action.

I've never experienced any form of healing or a health modality that hasn't included an aspect of the unknown or uncertainty.

Don't let that stop you.

Don't let your subconscious, reactive mind stop you from being an active creator in your life.

I love sharing some of the behind the scenes process and education around all things subconscious work with me, but truthfully, not knowing the "how," as a client, has its advantages.

Let yourself drop deeper into feeling than analyzing.

Unburden your thinking brain from its constancy with a deep breath and some willingness.

I've found that when you find the right practitioner, too, the 'how' matters less, because you find YOU in the process.

Sometimes, the answer is far simpler than a complexly traumatized nervous system can know.

Feeling is healing. And I get it - when in a state of trauma or survival, it may feel like you're feeling all the time.

But panic attacks, "meltdowns," "breakdowns," and crises aren't actually indicative of anything shifting sustainably from the root. 🧬

Learning how to feel your feelings sustainably actually requires regulation first for long-term health.

Emotions are energy in motion. They gotta move. And not just after one big cry, but from the default, subconscious program that's been signaling your present-day stress.

Developing a relationship to your feelings is what makes feeling the vehicle to health.

Otherwise, it's easy to perceive feelings are the enemy if you haven't been safe enough to develop a capacity to feel them.

Emotions are powerful. Humbling. And ultimately, an ally when properly resourced.

Resistance to them or fighting with them only perpetuates dis-ease.

LET'S JOURNEY INTO THE MIND 🧠

Here's a quick overview of the mind and some common misconceptions I notice when people discuss the subconscious.

It's easy to think the subconscious is out of our control because it's reflexive in nature. This means it operates without our conscious knowing.

In stress states, I've witnessed that this involuntary form of operating can exacerbate feelings of overwhelm, intolerance, victimization, and overall suffering.

However, we can and do have the ability to be aware of what's subconscious as well as rewire it, even when it's sub (meaning below) conscious awareness.

While awareness helps, it's not enough to shift the default program. That's where subconscious work with me comes in 😉.

Time to get personal.

It's true that you're designed to heal and regenerate no matter what.

It's also true that the fire that stokes regenerative work can be equal parts relentless and beautiful — the breaking and rebuilding, deconstructing and reconstructing, destroying and creating, losing and loving.

Like all elemental medicine, fire is one of life's greatest mirrors and teachers. It co-operates towards homeostasis.

As it goes with duality and balance, there are positive and negative properties here.

Some of fire's negative properties can look like:
🔻Destruction
🔻Anger + rage
🔻Inflammation
🔻Impulsivity
🔻Devastating loss

But equally, some of fire's positive properties can look like:
🔺Rebirth
🔺Creation
🔺Productivity
🔺Strength + independence
🔺Passion + motivation
🔺Love
🔺Growth potential

In the last 10 months, the element of fire has reconfigured my entire world.

I overflow with gratitude as a default state of being. And I know I am here because of where I've been and what it took to truly arrive. These are co-operative states, too.

The work I offer is my life's work for a reason: It's how I live. There is no separation.

And every overcome obstacle only substantiates the depth of these knowings that much more.

As a result of doing deep regenerative healing work, the following things in my world have ignited:

HEY! You know what's awesome?

Taking ownership of your triggers. 😏

When you learn that you can heal and repattern your wounds 100%, your healing becomes no one else's responsibility.

Read that again. 😮‍💨

There's a strength and sovereignty in that that everyone has the potential to embody. 🧘‍♀️

This may be an unpopular opinion, and that's cool, but trigger warnings perpetuate the pattern of being triggered.

And asking loved ones to accommodate your trauma is another way of choosing trauma.

Believe me, I've done it.

This *does NOT* mean be careless about triggers. It does *NOT* mean ignoring them or tolerating unsafe environments.

It *DOES* mean tend to yourself in the way only *YOU* can and only *YOU* know how.

It *DOES* mean cultivating a safe environment inside yourself. Perhaps for the first time.

There is a way to do this strategically.

Ironically, I find that sometimes trauma-informed spaces can actually enable and reinforce trauma patterns subconsciously.

And sure, as always, there's a time and place.

In my sphere, sustainable health, wellness, and healing is all about empowerment and Self-directed knowing.

There is a roadmap here. 🗺️

Upgrade the cellular memory of your triggers and your entire internal (and therefore external) environments shift. 🧬

No more needing other people to accommodate your way of operating.

No more walking on eggshells or demanding them.

Because it's always working with and for you.

No one conscious chooses suffering, symptoms, or stress.

But in order to survive what the subconscious deems unsafe, out of control, or un-survivable, that 95% is going to choose to express itself reactively on *YOUR* behalf.

Wild, no?

This does *NOT* mean you don't have agency. In fact, it's the opposite.

Your choice to work with the subconscious is exactly what makes way for it to help you heal the root of its operating system. 🧬

You working with your internal guidance is exactly the way back to balance and regeneration.

I see many clients at first who perceive this 95% reptilian brain to be "against" them. 🧠

I lived many years thinking the same.

But that pattern is ALSO a byproduct of dis-ease and dis-order. That's not your truth.

There is nothing in you that can't heal. That's by design. 🌀

It's just a matter of how you work with it.

As some of you know, the beginning of Inner Realm Wellness's vision used to focus solely on the 95%.

Now, we're here for it all. Bridging the gap between the conscious, choosing you and the subconscious, protective you.

95% subconscious + 5% conscious = 100% well. 💥

Have you ever dialed into self-care overload only upon receiving a diagnosis or hitting "rock bottom?"

There's wisdom in the trajectory and the sequences in which we operate. 🌀

But more importantly, it's what happens AFTER the diagnosis stabilizes and BEFORE you even receive one.

Consistency repatterns inconsistency in the body.

Showing up for you continuously builds self-trust sustainably when you may have come from environments where trusting was unsafe.

Proactive self-care is showing up for you EVERY DAY without condition.

Not waiting for an external circumstance to dictate your why.

Because once pathology presents itself, we're already BEHIND. 🚩

Of course, the definition of self-care and its associated behaviors may vary on the reg.

Discovering what that toolkit is, looks like, and how to nurture it is part of our subconscious work together.
