ITB Syndrome is notorious for that nagging lateral (outside) knee pain associated with running. While strengthening the muscles around the knee can help, one of the best treatments is working on your hip strength, specifically, the gluteus medius. This muscle stabilizes the pelvis and decreases the likelihood of the knee collapsing under load. The side plank hip abduction is super challenging but a great way to ensure you are targeting the right muscle and preventing ITB occurrence.
