The first Monday in September is a nationally recognized day to honor our nation’s workers for their contributions to the well-being of our country.  In that spirit, I also celebrate “Labor Day,” honoring those who work together to prepare for one of the most transformative experiences in their lives!

I never had the privilege of meeting Penny Simpkin in person but her books, videos, and wisdom have profoundly influenced my practice as a doula, physiological birth educator, and pregnancy, birth, & postpartum support and care provider.

Newton once said “I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” and this is truly how I feel reflecting on her passing and the wisdom she shared with us in her lifetime.
