Sometimes the behaviors we learned to survive can follow us long after the danger is gone. Over-apologizing, people-pleasing, shutting down when emotions rise, feeling guilty about resting, these aren’t personality traits, they’re learned protections.

Healing begins when we recognize what our body and mind have been trying to do all along: keep us safe.

Swipe through and see if any of these things sound familiar. And if you're ready to change them, we're here to help.

What behavior is the one that resonates with you the most?? Drop it below!

Our staff therapist, Amy Lowe, explains how therapists at Colorado Women's Center tailor your therapy experience to whatever you need.

When most people think about therapy, they envision "Talk Therapy," but there are so many more kinds of therapy.

Other types of therapy include (but aren't limited to):
EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Somatic - body awareness, breath work, and movement exercises

Therapy shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all experience. It should be adjusted to meet your needs and help you meet your goals.

What are some questions you have about therapy? Drop them below, and we may answer them in a later video!

Rest isn’t laziness. It’s nervous system regulation.

When you rest, you tell your body it’s safe. And when you rest without guilt, you start to heal a nervous system that has been deregulated for too long.

You deserve to rest. You deserve to heal. Today, not when you feel like you've earned it.

World Kindness Day isn’t just about how we treat others. It’s also about the way we treat ourselves. Today, take a breath, soften your thoughts, and remember that you’re doing the best you can. Be proud of that because we're proud of you. đŸ©·

Step inside our Fort Collins location, a space that was intentionally designed to help you exhale.

Every detail, from the lighting to the layout to the photos and the literature, was chosen with the goal of creating warmth, comfort, and calm. Therapy should feel like a warm hug, not a cold shoulder.

Whether it’s your first session or your fiftieth, our rooms are built for real conversations, real healing, and real women, like you.

If you couldn't tell, women are kind of a BIG DEAL here at Colorado Women's Center. Our founder, Kendra, began her career working with men who had been incarcerated, but time and time again, she found herself drawn to the women in their lives.

Listen as she explains why she was drawn to these women and how that passion led to what CWC is today!

We want to hear from YOU! Your words have the power to help another woman say yes to her own healing. Leaving a review on Google is more than just feedback; it is a way of letting someone know they are not alone and that support is available. Your voice helps other women find the care they deserve.

We appreciate each and every review we get from our clients and want to thank those of you who take the time to share your experiences. It makes all the difference in the world!

The fall I started therapy was the fall I stopped living for everyone else and started putting myself first. It was the fall I learned that saying no is not selfish, and that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

Therapy is not just about getting through hard seasons; it is also about creating a new way forward. Is this the fall you start therapy?

There is no single path to healing. At Colorado Women’s Center, our therapists use approaches like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and others to help women find balance and emotional regulation.

Different tools for different women, but always with the same goal: healing and growth. Have you heard or have experience with any of these types of therapy before? Let us know in the comments below!

Armor may have helped you survive, but it may also keep you from showing up as who you really are. Brené Brown reminds us that there comes a point in life when the same walls that protected us start to hold us back.

Midlife is not the beginning of the end; it is the beginning of a new chapter, where you set down what no longer serves you and step into your gifts.

Are you ready to put the armor down and show the world the real you? If so, we're here to help you let it go. đŸ€đŸ©·

Our mission is simple and powerful: to bring balance to humanity by enabling equality for women.

Our founder, , created the Colorado Women's Center to allow women to see what is possible and teach them the tools to achieve beyond their own beliefs.

Not just surviving but thriving. Not just showing up, but showing the world we belong. Every story, every session, every act of healing has its purpose, and it begins here at CWC.

Our Mission

Colorado Women’s Center focuses on the whole woman. Our goal is to help each of our clients become the best version of themselves. Are there parts of you that you would like to change? Do you struggle with loneliness, depression, anger, parenting, work/life balance, self-esteem, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or any other common issues that many women face today? If so, please know that we are here to help you get through life’s difficult moments, while using them as a way to transform.

Women face many conflicting messages in regard to living a full and satisfying life–messages concerning what we should do, what we should think, how we should look, how we should act, and who we should be. We put so much importance on these messages that we get caught up in trying to attain them–even if they are unattainable. And with all of the external noise and chaos, listening to our inner voice and deep intuition can be difficult. Therefore, many women struggle with feelings of self-doubt and unworthiness, which can lead to more serious issues.

Women’s therapy is not about placing blame on men for the challenges women face. Women’s therapy is about empowering women to discover their incredible beauty so that they are able to act from a place of truth and confidence. From this place, they will be able to find a proper balance between caring for self and others. From this place, they will learn to accept themselves for all that they are–both good and bad. From this place, they will be able to shine all of the parts they treasure most, without shame.

At Colorado Women’s Center, we help women to let go of the opinion of others–one of human nature’s biggest challenges. We help them learn who they are and how to use their gifts in the world, regardless of what others think. We teach self-forgiveness and letting go of guilt and shame, so that each and every client can learn how to shine first, from within.
