How long do hearing aids last? 👂

It’s a great question and the answer is a lot like owning a car. 🚗

Most modern hearing aids stay in good working condition for about 3–5 years. After that, many can still keep you hearing well, but they often need more frequent repairs or maintenance to stay on the road.

Just like a car, you can keep repairing and supporting them… but many people choose to upgrade when repairs add up or when new technology offers better comfort, clarity, and performance in noise.

Several factors influence how long hearing aids last, including:
🔹 Build and materials
🔹 Daily wear
🔹 Cleaning and maintenance habits
🔹 How often they are professionally serviced

If you’ve noticed changes in sound quality or reliability, it may be time to check in with your hearing care provider to make sure they are ready for any bump in the road coming your way this year.

🎉 Did the holidays wear you out more than they used to? It could be listening fatigue. This is when hearing loss makes your brain work overtime trying to fill in missing speech sounds amid background noise and overlapping conversations.

Other simple signs of hearing loss are asking others to repeat themselves, turning up the music more than usual, talking louder than those around you, or having trouble following a group conversation.
