Faces of Frasier: Resident Edition! Meet Victoria, a resident of three years who is deeply engaged in Spiritual Life, lifelong learning, and using AI in a creative way. She has given two presentations here, on her 2015 memoir and on the topic of consciousness. She has called Frasier her place to move forward, because “no matter what happens to you, there is support around you.”

Quick Q&A with Victoria:
Q: Who at Fraser inspires you?
A: A resident here, she comes up with very good insights on spirituality. Plus, she cannot hear, but she got a phone where it shows the text of what you're saying. She keeps going despite, you know, now being in her 90s. She's admirable.

Q: Is there something your elders taught you that you still carry with you?
A: I did not meet any of my grandparents, but I did research when I wrote my book. I come from a poor family in Puerto Rico, and so I feel quite good that the universe has helped me to come this far. In some ways, that is how I am connecting with my ancestors.

Q: What advice would you give yourself a year ago?
A: Keep on getting to know your inner self. Because we are here on this planet, and we’re a mystery. Where do we go? What is our essence? There are theories on consciousness, and I am an idealist. But yes, the advice for myself is keep going, Victoria, keep working on it.

For Victoria, aging is about continuing exploration, reflection, and growth. See you next time with more people who never stop asking questions!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️ We celebrated Frasier-style with a lively “pub crawl” across campus—ranging from sweet treats to salty snacks, writing Irish wishes and snapping photo booth pics, to enjoying a perfectly poured beer…this festive tour had it all.

We topped it off with an energetic performance by Irish dancers—talk about the luck of the Irish!

Building community looks different for everyone — and today, it looks like a friendly game of pool.

Our Chaplain is creating intentional space for bereaved individuals, especially men, to connect, build trust, and feel supported by meeting them in spaces where they already feel most comfortable.

And let's just say, she's also a serious contender at the pool table!

Every quarter, we celebrate team members who reach service milestones in five-year increments—and our February staff meeting gave us plenty to cheer about! We recognized team members for their time at Frasier, ranging from 5 to an incredible 20 years of service. Each milestone was celebrated with well-earned recognition and awards reflecting their years of dedication.

The real story behind those numbers? Commitment, compassion, and a genuine love for the work they do every day. These team members help create the warm, person-centered community that makes Frasier so special.

Faces of Frasier: Team Member edition! Meet Omid, our Transportation Supervisor! He began at Frasier as a part-time driver in 2017 and is now known by residents and team members alike as the first to lend a helping hand. His talents stretch far beyond Frasier, from running a limousine service to operating an online Persian bakery to flying small engine planes.

A quick Q&A with Omid:
Q: If you could master any skill instantly, what would you choose?
A: Definitely to fly a commercial airplane. Or, I’d love to go back to college and study business. My kids are pushing me also. They say, Dad, you need to go back!

Q: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
A: A burger, as in American-style food, but for Persian food, ghormeh sabzi. Ghormeh sabzi is made with either lamb or beef and then different kinds of herbs. That’s my favorite food forever. I have it like twice a week, and I never get tired of it.

Q: What is your favorite Frasier memory?
A: It was the 100th birthday for one of our residents in the HillTop. It was a wonderful birthday, I will never forget. They had everything special ordered with 100's on it. On candies, on the balloons, on the napkins. She lived to be 104, she was so sweet. I have a picture with her, I never want to lose that picture.

We’re honored to spotlight Omi and the warmth and creativity he brings to Frasier every day. See you next time!

In February, Frasier honored Black History Month in ways both meaningful and memorable.

A true highlight was a special performance by the world-renowned Jeremy Winston Chorale International—a generous gift from a longtime resident to the Frasier community. This internationally acclaimed, award-winning ensemble is celebrated for its artistic excellence and its commitment to cultural connection through music. Their performance was nothing short of inspiring.

We closed the month with “Resisting Erasure: Black Presence in White Spaces,” a powerful panel discussion featuring Terrance Carrol, Junie Joseph, Pedro Silva, and Wanda James. The evening also included music and entertainment from Nana Boakye and concluded with stirring spirituals by Taishya Adams.

From world-class music to thoughtful dialogue, February was a time to reflect, learn, and celebrate the enduring contributions and leadership of Black Americans, past, present, and future.

We loved having My Nature Lab visit The Meadows! Maggie, our expert “snake wrangler,” brought snakes, lizards, tortoises — even an iguana. Many residents (and staff!) held these amazing animals for the first time ever.

An important water line relocation project will get underway, which serves Frasier and portions of the Frasier Meadows neighborhood.

This multi-month project, beginning March 2 and anticipated to conclude in June 2026, will install a new, larger water main beneath Pawnee Drive, replacing the older line under Ponca Place. Swinerton Construction is leading the work. This improved infrastructure represents a necessary and long-term investment in the Frasier Meadows neighborhood along with our community and is required by the City of Boulder.

Project Timeline (Estimated):
• Primary Utility Work: March through mid-May 2026
• Tree Removal at Frasier’s entrance on Ponca Place: mid-April 2026
• Project Completion: late June 2026

What to Expect
• Work will be Monday-Friday, 8am-3:30pm
• Traffic control measures and periodic lane closures or detours on Ponca Place and Pawnee Drive.
• Construction noise, equipment, and excavation activity during work hours.
• Brief, scheduled water service interruptions when connections are switched to the new line (advance notice will be provided to those impacted).

Updated traffic maps and ongoing project details will be posted at
https://www.mtviewfrasier.org/engagement

We appreciate your patience as this important improvement moves forward.

Frasier, located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, offers an exceptional Boulder setting, close to everywhere you’d like to be, with an enriching lifestyle and an involved community. Boulder is recognized as one of America’s best-educated, most active, happiest, and healthiest communities. It is a top travel and recreation destination with an average of 300 sunny days each year. Since 1960, Frasier has provided exceptional quality services to seniors and is Colorado’s only accredited Life Plan Community. As a not-for-profit community, the needs of our residents always come first. Our residents in independent living, assisted living, and our skilled nursing community (including memory support, respite, and rehabilitation care) reflect the diverse and eclectic population of our well-known university town, which is home to the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado. Frasier was founded by the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Methodist Church. The groundbreaking was held on June 8, 1958, on twenty acres of land contributed by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Frasier, and we welcomed our first residents in April 1960. Subsequently, 300 independent living apartments, 38 assisted living apartments, a skilled nursing center, an arts and education center, and an award-winning wellness center have been constructed on the campus. As a not-for-profit organization founded upon the principle of service, Frasier endeavors to provide tangible benefits both to our residents and to the greater Boulder community. While these social accountability efforts focus on caring for seniors, we are proud of our partnerships with diverse organizations that work to improve the community in areas such as health, wellness, service, and leadership.
