Today we celebrate Autism Awareness Day 💙

Autism looks different in every individual.
To a bystander, it can sometimes be misunderstood as shyness, avoidance, being “difficult,” or even rudeness, when in reality, it’s simply a different way of experiencing and responding to the world.

The more we integrate with the neurodiverse community, the more empathy and understanding we can build.

Let’s keep creating a world where every voice is respected and valued.💙

There’s been a lot happening lately, and it can feel like it’s all hitting at once.

Coming back to what’s actually within your control reduces overwhelm and restores focus.

Places to zoom in: where you source information, how much you take in, and how you take care of yourself and others.

Direct your energy wisely.

That can look like showing up in your own community, and also beyond it. Use your voice where you can, whether that’s voting, reaching out to representatives, supporting causes financially, spending ethically, or speaking up in ways that feel aligned.

It need not be everything at once.

One step at a time with effort that can be sustained.

Finding the right fit for therapy can be tough, especially when you rarely find someone who understands how your brain works.

Maybe you’ve tried strategies that everyone else swears by, only to find they don’t stick for you. That’s because cookie-cutter approaches often aren’t made for neurodivergent brains.

Some strategies feel impossible because they were designed for someone else’s brain. Stop forcing yourself into systems that don’t fit. I help neurodivergent adults build strategies, routines, and coping skills that actually work for their brains. Others may have labeled you as a kid, either positively and negatively: ‘curious,’ ‘bossy,’ ‘clingy,’ ‘gifted,’ ‘shy.’ Sometimes these stories stick around long after childhood.

Take a moment to think about some labels that still echo today. Do they serve you? Do they reflect who you’ve become? You’re allowed to reframe them to represent who you truly are now.
