Happy Holidays! In my passion project of interviewing family and couple-owned businesses, I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Alison Steele, co-owner/manager with her brother Seth of Niwot Market in Niwot, Colorado. I "Love the Locals" and Alison has a great story to share about her notorious and sadly late father, Bert Steele, recipient of the Boulder County Hall of Fame 2025. She shares the joys and work ethic, loyalty and community engagement learned first hand growing up in the family business.

Hey everyone. I am excited to announce offering an adaptation of the Seven Principles for Making Marriage work for relationships of founders, couples and family business.
As many of you know, I grew up in a custom home building family business of 72 years and am passionate about what goes on "inside" the business, home and relationships. I care about small, locally owned businesses and beyond those with heart forward passion to help make the world a better place.
It starts one relationship at a time to grow strong, loving, courageous and passion filled lives and businesses.
We will:
Gain understanding of the seven principles from the extensive research from the Gottman Institute.
Clarify ways of increasing mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being and self leadership
Understand ways to deepen connection, engagement and inspiration
Increase effective ways to respect and manage difference and conflict.
Clarify ways to strengthen commitment to values, mission and vision that will enhance personal, relational, and business success.

Happy summer to everyone. I hope you are taking some "downtime" to relax and play.
As you know, I have two parts of my practice. Couple Space Boulder, LLC is our work with couples and families.
Sharla Macy Consulting is our work with business teams. I have offerings for both I will share with you here. Summer is a great time for a retreat or to provide space in an intensive to focus and work more deeply.

I am delighted to be a presenter for the Million Dollar Marriage https://lnkd.in/g4URQQEC on Wednesday. This brain-child online community founded by Jeremey and Amy Houlton specializes in supporting entrepreneurial couples. I am so impressed with the mission and vision of this group and the vast resources they provide. Their mission to support couples to "have a marriage as powerful as the business they are building" truly resonates.
My presentation will weave the principles on how relationships thrive based on the research and my rich experience with the Gottman Institute. Reflection on the Sound Relationship House includes looking at the strengths and challenges within the areas of trust, commitment, maps of understanding, friendship, intimacy, managing conflict, and ways to create shared meaning and make dreams come true.
It will be an honor to join with this amazing community!

I am proud to see the Boulder Star lit as a symbol of solidarity and resilience in the aftermath of Sunday’s horrific sttack. Called to evacuate, i was shaken and speechless. This morning-I like many are facing the aftermath of this week.
