Chef Monica brings creativity, care, and passion to every meal she prepares at MorningStar. She especially enjoys the opportunity to create unique gluten-free soups for our residents, appreciating the freedom to be inventive while still meeting specific dietary needs in a way that is both flavorful and enjoyable. For Monica, the most rewarding part of her work is seeing how appreciative the residents are—not just of her, but of the entire dining team. Their positive feedback continues to inspire her to provide a meaningful and enjoyable dining experience each day. She thoughtfully incorporates healthy, seasonal ingredients across a variety of menu items, from soups and entrées to snacks and desserts, while also taking the time to listen to residents’ ideas and preferences. This ensures that each menu is not only nutritious and high-quality, but also truly reflective of the community she serves.

MSU Bird Watching and Nature Discovery class has been a wonderful hit with our residents! 🐦🌿

So far, we’ve created two different types of bird feeders—repurposing everyday items like toilet paper rolls and wine bottles. Not only was this a fun and creative project, but it also supports our feathered friends and gives residents something special to watch and enjoy right outside their windows.

Love was in the air and the beads were flying! Our residents had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras this past week. From sweet treats and heartfelt moments to festive colors, music, and lots of laughter, the celebrations were full of joy and great memories. We’re so grateful for these special times together! 💜💛💚❤️
