It’s been awhile since you’ve heard from us- just having fun treating patients! Wanted to share this, as I’ve frequently had the dog and/or baby co-star in treatment sessions during the pandemic. Thankfully, we’re back in the office and can offer in person therapy in both Boulder and Denver metro area, as well as teletherapy options for those who live in Colorado and Wyoming.

Having ADHD can look like low motivation or follow through to others, but it’s not! With ADHD, it can be hard to keep track of to-dos in your head, and you can become easily distracted when attempting to complete a task. Try to get written instructions and plan for when you will be doing tasks to help with this.

One of our followers recently asked how to determine if something is more severe than a concussion, which is such a great question. There are over 20 common symptoms of a concussion, and these can include issues physically, cognitively, emotionally, and with sleep.
-
But when is it more than a concussion? There are some "red flag" symptoms that indicate something more severe than a concussion may be going on, and any of these require emergency medical attention: - Loss of consciousness greater than 5 minutes
- Numbness, tingling, and/or weakness in the arms or legs
- Severe headache
- Vomiting
- Seizures
- Disorientation or increasing confusion - Slurred speech

If a person is experiencing or displaying any of these signs or symptoms, they should be taken to the emergency department immediately to rule out something more serious than a concussion.

Such a good question!!! We’ve all been there, frantically looking for what we’ve misplaced. There are some easy attention and memory strategies to help with this, like making sure your important items have a “home” where you always keep them. Then make it a routine to put them there and you’ll be well on your way!

There is a lot of misinformation out there about concussions, and this is one of the most common ones we hear. You don’t have to hit your head to sustain a concussion. Because this myth exists, many people don’t get the help they need. Listen to your body and seek help if you feel like something isn’t right.
