Signs of teething in babies can include swollen gums, more drooling, and mild tenderness or discomfort. A true fever (>100.4 degrees) is not a sign of teething, but actually represents an illness or infection and may require treatment.

You can help ease teething pain by massaging your baby's gums, offering solid teething rings, or a clean frozen or wet washcloth. Tylenol (or Motrin > 6 months old) may help as well.

Healthy oral habits start early! Start brushing your child's teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste as soon as their first tooth erupts. 🦷

Fluoride helps protect against cavities as it works to protect the thinner enamel of baby teeth. It's best to brush right after breakfast and before bedtime. Kids need help or supervision brushing teeth until they master the skill, usually around age 10.
