Hello Everyone!
As you are working with your volunteers in your county and determining which role they should pick in 4-H Online, I wanted to provide you with a quick reference to the volunteer types and roles. These descriptions may help as you guide volunteers through the enrollment process and explain where their role best fits.
Volunteer Types & Roles
Adult β Club Volunteer
β’ 4-H Project Leader β Provides leadership and helps members learn about or specialize in specific project areas.
β’ Community Club Leader β Provides overall leadership to a 4-H club and supports members in their learning.
Adult β Activity Volunteer
β’ Activity Leader β Assists in planning and leading club or county events and activities.
Adult β Program Volunteer
β’ County Paid Staff β Supports 4-H program activities and events; hired by the county.
β’ NDSU Extension Professional β Supports 4-H programs at the professional level; employed by NDSU Extension.
β’ State 4-H Ambassador β Represents and promotes 4-H at the state level.
Adult β Coach
β’ Shooting Sports Instructor β Certified instructor who teaches safe and responsible use of fi****ms, hunting, and archery principles using 4-H curriculum.
β’ Team Coach β Prepares, mentors, and leads 4-H teams in competitions or events.
Youth β Club Volunteer
β’ Youth Leader β Youth serving in a leadership or mentorship role, such as a county Ambassador or junior leader.
