🎁 Adopt a Senior 2025 is officially underway! 🎄

We’re excited to kick off this year’s Adopt a Senior program — hosted by The Rocking Chair Fund, Inc., the nonprofit arm of Front Porch of Bowdon Senior Living.

What is Adopt a Senior?
It’s a community-driven holiday program that connects volunteers with local seniors who may be alone or in need of a little extra cheer during the season. Each volunteer “adopts” a senior and provides a thoughtful gift or care package, which our team then delivers before Christmas.

We had presented the idea for the residents in our community last year and the response was incredible — all of our residents received gifts and messages of love from neighbors like you. In fact, we had more volunteers than residents! This year, we’re expanding the program to reach more seniors across Bowdon, Carrollton, and nearby communities! 💕

Here’s how you can help:
✨ Volunteer to adopt a senior and provide a holiday gift
✨ Nominate a senior who could use some love this season
✨ Share this post to help us spread the word

All gifts will be collected by December 15th at Front Porch of Bowdon Senior Living, and we’ll make sure every senior gets their gift before the holidays.

🐐🐐 Say hello to our new resident therapy goat, Toby Rosewood! 🐐🐐

A vendor at our Fall Festival was selling him, and the residents fell in love with him. We couldn't resist. A couple of our staff adopted him, so now he's a visiting team member here for cuddles and snuggles.

Special thanks go to all of our staff, with a big shout-out to our Activities Director, Diane, and our New Resident Coordinator, Maeghan, our volunteers, and vendors for helping us create a great fall festival this year! It turned out great.

Stay tuned for more community events during the holidays. We will gear up for and expand the scope of our second annual "Adopt a Senior" gift-giving program, which matches volunteers with local seniors without much family support to give a gift and some holiday cheer. We will look to expand our reach to the local Bowdon community and seniors living in other long-term care communities, so check back soon for nomination and volunteer details.
