Last year Clean Moves did more than clean dorm rooms.
During student housing turnover season, our teams operated across major university campuses and off campus student housing communities including Howard University, Bowie State University, and the University of Maryland coordinating large scale dorm and apartment transitions across multiple buildings.
But something bigger happened during that season.
We created opportunities for students at two different stages.
High school students joined us through internships where they helped document operations, supported our teams, and assisted with preparing dorm rooms ahead of cleaning crews. For many of them, it was their first time experiencing a professional work environment on a college campus.
At the college level, our Operations Leads gained real project management experience coordinating cleaning teams, managing timelines, supporting quality control, and helping oversee turnover operations.
These students were paid for their work and also received a Clean Moves book scholarship to support their education.
The goal was not just completing turnovers.
It was creating exposure.
Exposure to leadership.
Exposure to systems.
Exposure to how real operations run.
Last year we awarded scholarships to recognize leadership and growth.
In 2026 our goal is to award at least $5,000 in Clean Moves scholarships to students.
Because Clean Moves has never just been about cleaning.
It is about building people.
