This moment absolutely sent me. 😂

Someone decided to test their grandma with dementia by telling her about a random TikTok girl’s chaotic relationship—five kids, three jobs, a man who does nothing at home. And Grandma? She wasn’t having any of it.

The judgment. The side-eye. The instant conclusion that her granddaughter must be personally involved in this mess. 😭

Dementia may take memories, but it clearly hasn’t taken their ability to call us out.

Has your loved one ever roasted you out of nowhere?

“What’s your address?”
“I don’t know.”

“What did you have for lunch?”
“Food. Good food.”

“Who is Linda? Who is Paul?”
“I dunno.”

Then she asked: “Who is Jesus?”

And suddenly, clarity. Peace. Certainty.

“He’s the one that saved me and lives in my heart and will take me home.”

Dementia takes so much. Addresses disappear. Meals fade. Names become strangers. But deep faith? That can remain untouched. It’s the last thing to go because it’s not just memory—it’s part of who she is.

What has your loved one held onto, even when so much else faded?

Me walking in for the 80th time:

“Ma’am, I can do whatever you need. I just pray you’re not about to sh*t.”

Patient: “It’s hard to tell.” 💀

The call light struggle is REAL, y’all. 😂

“Were you surprised when I told you I was your daughter?”

“I was surprised. But I was happy you were my daughter.”

She doesn’t fully understand how they’re connected. She asks, “How did we come together?” She’s piecing together a puzzle that dementia keeps scrambling.

But then she says the most important part: “I think I like you.”

Recognition may fade. Memories may blur. But the feeling of love? The genuine liking of someone? That can remain.

Has your loved one ever shown you love without fully remembering who you are?

You have to see the moment the fog lifts. Amidst a simple conversation, a mother with Alzheimer’s has a beautiful moment of clarity and recognizes her daughter. 💖
A powerful reminder that love and core memories can still shine through. Hold on to these moments. ❤️

Two years.

Same woman. Same warm smile. Same beautiful soul.

But dementia doesn’t just take memories. It takes weight. It takes energy. It takes the physical strength we often take for granted. She went from vibrant and jolly to thin and fragile—while the love in her eyes somehow never fully left.

This video is a reminder to hug your parents a little tighter today. To take the photos. To cherish the healthy years.

Have you watched someone you love change right in front of you?

02/25/2026

“I died this morning.”

“Oh no. Are you feeling better?”

“A little bit. But I have a biscuit.”

This conversation is dementia in a nutshell. Profound confusion one second, asking for snacks the next. She calls the caregiver “mommy,” forgets her name, then introduces herself all over again. And through it all? There’s sweetness. There’s trust. There’s “I’m pleased I make you laugh.”

Caregiving is navigating moments like this—where nothing makes sense, but the connection somehow still does.

What’s the strangest or sweetest thing your loved one has said?

02/24/2026

The “it’s a surprise” trick. Works every time. 😂

And just like that, we’re walking right back inside. No arguments. No redirection struggle. Just the magic word: surprise.

Caregivers, what’s your go-to phrase that somehow always works?

02/23/2026

“You were good looking when you were young. But you’re ugly now.”

Dementia removes filters. It steals memories. But watch what happens when they find their wedding photo.

He remembers marrying her. He calls himself a lucky man. Then five seconds later, he’s back to calling her ugly—and the son too. And somehow? They all laugh together.

This is dementia. Brutal honesty one minute, sweet memories the next. This family chooses to find the humor in between.

How does your family navigate the unfiltered moments?

02/19/2026

“I didn’t have you, b*tch.”

Imagine hearing those words from the woman who gave you life.

This is not a bad mother. This is not a hateful woman. This is dementia—stealing memories, identities, and replacing them with confusion and aggression.

For caregivers who have been called names, screamed at, or denied by their own loved ones: you are not alone. It is not them. It is the disease.

And still, she stays. Still, she gently asks, “What kind of mama are you?” Still, she loves.

If you’ve endured moments like this, how do you remind yourself it’s the illness talking?

The lack of self-awareness is actually impressive. 😂

My patient spent a solid 10 minutes explaining how “those people” in the common area are “clearly not right in the head.” Sir... ma’am... my love... you literally tried to walk into the supply closet 5 times looking for your bedroom.

Dementia is wild. You can forget you have it but still have strong opinions about everyone else.
