Happy International Women’s Day!

Today we celebrate the incredible women who help make Collington such a vibrant and caring community. This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” reminds us that when we support, mentor, and uplift one another, we all grow stronger together.

From the wisdom and leadership of our residents to the dedication of our team members, women play a vital role in living out our mission of Creating Community for Purposeful Lives.

💜 Today we celebrate you.

Last week, our partner Family & Nursing Care arranged for Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee to visit our team with fresh coffee, hot cocoa, tea, and tasty treats. It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly reflects the supportive and valued partnership we’re grateful to share.

Today we had the pleasure of joining the Prince George's County Police Department (PGPD) Financial Crimes Unit for their annual “Love On Our Seniors” event.

We were proud to welcome PGFD, Metro Transit Police, M-NPPC Park Police, SHIP, and State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County Tara Jackson as they joined to share valuable resources with our community. Collington residents learned about financial scams, insurance information, safety tips, and more.

Thank you to PGPD for leading such an impactful event focused on protecting and empowering our residents. And a special shoutout to the PGPD in-house GoGo band for bringing incredible energy to the celebration!

We’re grateful to everyone who made the day meaningful, educational, and a true example of community coming together.

Happy snowy day from Collington!

Even with all this cold weather, our campus is looking especially bucolic and beautiful. We were delighted to see resident Ann Marie Rahn enjoying the snow with a cross-country ski across campus.

We also wanted to share the lovely winter views from our residents’ homes, highlighting the quiet beauty of our campus during this snowy season. Thank you to Ingrid Finnan, Meg Carroll, Nancy Lively, and Kathy Winters for sharing their wonderful photos.

Stay warm, everyone, and enjoy the winter scenery!

Community doesn’t pause for a winter storm.

This weekend, while snow and ice moved in, our dedicated team and resident volunteers showed up — staying overnight, delivering meals to cottages, and ensuring neighbors were safe, warm, and cared for.

From health services, dining and transportation to environmental services, security, facilities, and more, this is what living in a true community looks like.

Thank you to our incredible team and residents for stepping up and supporting one another.
This is why Collington is more than a place to live — it’s a place where people truly care. 💙❄️

We’re proud of our residents for coming together around what matters most. 🌳
NBC Washington recently highlighted how Collington residents worked collaboratively to protect and preserve the forest within community — a powerful example of stewardship, shared purpose, and care for future generations. 💚

Residents of a retirement community in Prince George’s County are spending a lot of their time outdoors, lately, volunteering to preserve the grounds surrounding their campus and hoping to inspire others to do the same. News4’s Darcy Spencer explains.

Today we continued the celebration with our Jingle and Mingle, giving everyone a chance to unwind, chat with teammates, and enjoy the warm holiday atmosphere with delicious bundt cakes and drinks!

It has truly been such a wonderful holiday week. We are so thankful for our amazing team and the joy they bring to our community. We cannot wait to do it all again next year!
