Last year, Maggie Byers was diagnosed with a hip labral tear—an injury that can be especially tough for runners and often leads to surgery. 🏃‍♀️

But Maggie had other plans. 💪

Our team partnered with Dr. Amanda Martin at Elite Sports Medicine to take a rehab-first approach—focusing on improving movement quality, building strength, and developing a structured return-to-run program, and—most importantly—a whole lot of hard work from Maggie herself.

Today, Maggie lined up for her first track meet in over a year. 🎉

We’re so proud of the work she’s put in and excited to watch what this season holds. Thanks for choosing RPI to be part of your team! 👟🔥

What's the best way to take care of patients? 🤔 Take care of the team first! This philosophy shapes everything we do at RPI. Patients feel the difference — and clinicians do too. Morgan Weinzapfel digs deeper into this on our latest blog post- check it out!

In healthcare, you often hear the phrase “patients come first.” And of course they should. But at RPI, we believe something important comes before even that. Great patient care starts with taking care of the people providing it. Physical therapy is a relationship-based profession. It requires li...

Learning never stops at RPI. 👏

Three of our therapists from three different RPI locations spent the weekend earning their Dry Needling Certification—expanding their skills so they can better treat pain and mobility limitations.

We’re proud to prioritize continuing education for our therapists because when our team grows, our patients benefit. 🪡

Think you could benefit from dry needling? Our therapist are here to help!

Hamstring rehab for athletes should involve a full body approach.💥

For throwing athletes, like QB .bailey, this is especially important. Deuce dropped in this week for tune-up work heading into spring football with .

Rehab of a hamstring strain, regardless of sport should involve…
✅ Mobility and control of hip and thoracic rotation
✅ Trunk and lower body disassociation
✅ Eccentric loading to strengthen the hamstring
✅ Retraining the “braking” system

What should hamstring rehab NOT look like?
❌ A primary focus on passive stretching
❌ Complete rest and pause in training
❌ Heavy in modalities only, such as ice or TENS

Dealing with a nagging hamstring? We can help! 🤝

Youth baseball injuries are rising — but many are preventable. ⚾️🥎

In Part 2 of our series, Jake Sullivan, one of our PTs that specializes in baseball, breaks down three key ways to keep young athletes healthy and on the field this season.

If you’re a parent, coach, or player, this is a must-read‼️

Read it here 👇

If you missed Part 1, check it out here: https://rehabilitationperformance.com/how-to-keep-your-youth-baseball-player-healthy-part-1/ Part 1 focused primarily on avoiding overuse, which is likely the lowest-hanging fruit when it comes to youth baseball injuries. Now that we’ve covered that, let’...

We recently had the opportunity to provide pre-season injury screening for local lacrosse players. 🥍

Pre-season screening can insure athletes are moving their best and pain free BEFORE the season starts, in order to put them in the best position for a successful upcoming season. 🏆

Physical therapy isn’t JUST for someone who is already injured. ❌ If you or an athlete you know are looking to perform at the top of your game this spring, RPI’s team is here to help!

No one tells you that parenting might make you a better leader…But somewhere between the chaos and the bedtime routines, you start learning lessons that show up in every part of your work.

One of our PTs, Morgan Weinzapfel, wrote about the leadership skills parenting taught her—none of which came from PT school.

No one warns you that parenting might make you better at your job. They warn you about the sleep deprivation. The messes. The emotional breakdowns over the wrong snack or the wrong color cup. What they don’t mention is that somewhere between morning chaos and bedtime routines, you quietly start le...
