Welcome Piper!!

Piper Scannell graduated from WKU with a bachelors in psychology in criminology. She currently is in the Masters program for clinical and mental health counseling. She is currently a Register Behavioral Technician. In her free time she loves to read, play sports, draw and go on picnics with her friends! Lilly is currently pursuing her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Kentucky University. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Liberty University in 2023. During her first year in the program, Lilly worked as a Graduate Assistant and Teacher’s Assistant in the Department of Counseling and Student Affairs at WKU. Lilly is from the Louisville area. In her free time, Lilly enjoys painting with watercolor, reading, taking walks, and drinking coffee. She looks forward to beginning work as a counselor!

Bruce is a graduate candidate for Western Kentucky University’s Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC), with an Addictions Education (AE) Certificate. He anticipates graduation in May 2025. Bruce currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western Kentucky University. Bruce has experience working with personnel who have survived, or currently serving in the Armed Forces. It's that time of year again!!

We would like to introduce one of our new interns!

Jamison Brown is a WKU Master of Arts in Counseling student with a main focus on Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Jamison is a native of Owensboro, KY, and he received his Bachelor of Science in Psychological Sciences at WKU in the Spring of 2023. While studying as an undergraduate and graduate, Jamison has gained copious amounts of knowledge and insight while working on research and being apart of studies in the Stress, Trauma, And, Recovery Lab (STAR Lab) with Dr. Matthew Woodward, as well as being a graduate assistant under Dr. Austin Griffiths at the LifeSkills Center for Child Welfare Education and Research. He hopes to continue to use these experiences while interning at FamilyWorks Therapy on his way to becoming a licensed clinical mental health counselor!

Meet Courtney, another new therapist at FamilyWorks . Courtney completed her BA in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Organization Law Enforcement Leadership in 2014 from American Military University. She is an Army combat veteran, and spent the last 8 years with the KY Department of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Officer. She completed her M.Ed. in Counseling From Lindsey Wilson College in August 2023. Her experience includes working with those in crisis and justice-involved persons and her passion includes working with fellow veterans and their families. She is a wife, mother and world traveler.
