March really flew by and now it is going to be time to celebrate Easter and April Birthdays! We will be having our Easter Party next Friday, cost is $3 per person. Meal to be served noonish. Current information from the National Weather Service indicates the possibility of severe weather. While this does not guarantee storms will occur, the threat is meaningful enough that everyone should stay alert and prepared.

Before going to bed tonight, please:

ā€¢ Charge all devices and keep them nearby šŸ”Œ
ā€¢ Keep essential items within reach (shoes, flashlight, medications, clothing, toiletries, snacks) šŸ”¦

Wood County no longer uses CodeRED for mass notifications. If you previously relied on CodeRED, make sure you have other ways to receive alerts, such as:
ā€¢ Local news and weather apps
ā€¢ FEMAā€™s mobile app
ā€¢ NOAA weather radio
ā€¢ Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) enabled on your cell phone

Wood County is currently transitioning to Everbridge as our new massā€‘notification system. While EMA can manually push an emergency notification to some residents, the full system is not yet active and should not be considered your primary method of receiving warnings. It remains essential to have multiple alerting options in place.

Once Everbridgeā€™s automated weatherā€‘alert optā€‘in system is ready, Wood County EMA will share a registration link so residents can set their preferences.
