Wood County Hospital is excited to celebrate the arrival of the first baby born in the new year!

Leland Michael Streetman was born on January 1, 2026, at 3:45 a.m., weighing 8 lbs., to proud parents Cynthia Huffman and Joseph Streetman.

To celebrate, our OB team gifted Leland a special basket, with all items donated and/or handmade by OB staff. His footprint will be featured on the Family Birthing Center’s First Footprint wall, and his parents enjoyed a celebratory meal prepared by our Dietary Department.

Congratulations to Cynthia and Joseph on a very special start to 2026! 💙🎉

After 36 years at Wood County Hospital/Wood Health Company, Tammy B. retires today. She began her career in 1989 as a pharmacy technician and went on to support teams in billing and denial coordination through many changes and key milestones. Tammy consistently shared her knowledge and helped colleagues navigate new systems and transitions.

As she begins this next chapter, she looks forward to spending more time with her husband, son and grandchildren and also plans to spend more time baking. Tammy and her husband are also planning to travel more on their motorcycle. Please join us in wishing Tammy all the best in her well-earned retirement.

Over the last four years, Wood County Hospital Volunteer Services and Otsego ConnectEd students have been partnering to assist with a variety of projects around the hospital.

This year, two students in the program are helping refresh the Barker Tree space in the Surgery waiting area. Their work cleaning the tree and its glass leaves has brought new life to the space.

Other ConnectEd students also help the Dietary department, doing activities such as washing dishes and wiping down tables, chairs, napkin holders and other surfaces.

This program gives students a hands-on experience in a healthcare setting. Along with helping with projects, they participate in individual interviews and learn about working in a hospital, including HIPAA, basic customer service, volunteer sign-in procedures, uniform requirements and workplace behavior.

We are grateful to provide this valuable learning opportunity and appreciate the students’ hard work throughout the hospital!
