One of our favorite outings is going to BG Alliance Church for their Nativity scene set-up. They have roughly 500 different nativity scenes. It is very fascinating to see. If you haven't checked it out, you should. Thank you, BG Alliance, for doing this every year!

We celebrated Holiday Movies Through the Decades at our holiday party last week. It was a huge success with a lot of participation from everyone. We played some music trivia, ate, drank and had plenty of conversations. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success. Happy Holidays to everyone!

Christmas baking has started at Brookdale! We started with Gingerbread cookies. They aren't the easiest to make, but we had fun doing it, and we enjoyed the end results.

It's that time of year again. BGSU Nursing Students and some of their friends entertained us with some Christmas Carols. We were singing along and even added in some solo performances. Having these students take time out of their evening to bring some smiles to the faces of our residents is priceless. Thank you to BGSU for doing a great job singing!

Gratitude Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization that is Christian-based. They came to perform a few of their Christmas dance acts. It was a beautiful performance, and we loved every minute. Thank you so much for bringing some holiday cheer to us.

We were very excited to have Elmwood High School's student council come and help decorate our Christmas trees. They helped decorate eight trees in all. We have received many compliments already, especially our BGSU tree. We would like to give a huge thank you to them for coming and helping. We are officially ready for the holidays.

This year's theme for the Holiday Parade was Holiday's through the Decades. "Brookdale Presents Holiday Movies Through the Decades" was the name of our float. We represented a movie from each decade starting in the 1950s. It is a lot of work but also a lot of fun to represent Brookdale in the Holiday Parade each year.

SAVE THE DATE! On Tuesday, December 2nd, a variety of wreaths, door hangings and themed gift baskets will be on display from noon to 6 p.m. The State Bank GIVES truck will be there, featuring the famous Sue Shank cookies available for a donation. They will match all donations for the Alzheimer's Association®.
