The LifeSkills Center for Child Welfare Education and Research at WKU extends our sincere gratitude for your ongoing commitment to improving the well-being of children and families across our communities. Your engagement continues to make a difference in shaping a stronger and more equitable future for all.
As part of our mission to collaborate with community members and stakeholders, we are pleased to invite you to Unity in Action, 2025; an interactive event designed to foster dialogue and partnership around key issues affecting the child welfare system.

This year’s focus is on poverty and its effects on the child welfare system; strategic solutions for change. The event will bring together professionals, community leaders, and advocates to explore how economic hardship contributes to family instability, child neglect, and system involvement—and to discuss strategies that can help mitigate these challenges. Together, we will examine how poverty exacerbates child welfare challenges and how we can identify and brainstorm strategic, actionable solutions through collaborative discussions.

Our hope is that these conversations will inspire collective action and reinforce our shared commitment to addressing the root causes of family vulnerability within our community. More information about the event is included in the attached flyer. Please review the details and register early, as space is limited. Refreshments will be provided. The RSVP link is included in this email and on the flyer. We encourage you to share the invitation with colleagues or others who may be interested in attending. Parking will be available at the Lisa Rice Library (1225 State Street, Bowling Green, KY 42101).

We look forward to seeing you at Unity in Action, 2025 as we work together to understand and address the impact of poverty on the child welfare system.
