Just a reminder that I do take United, Blue Cross, Florida Blue, Aetna, Cigna, and a few other plans at little to no cost!

I know a lot of lactation consultants used a biller that dropped BCBS but I use another biller and still take it for unlimited visits 🎉 (Virtual and Home visits are covered)

Some things we can do at visits:
- oral function exams
- oral rehab
- latching assistance
- pumping evals and guidance
- low milk supply assistance
- oversupply/engorgement/mastitis relief
- overcome breast and bottle refusals
- body work/infant massage for gas/tension/and hyperstimulation

And a lot more. Also dont wait until issues arise before calling for me.

I also help with milestones, tips, making sure your nursing/pumping as comfortably as possible, and so much more 😊

I just wanted to take the time to honor all of the breastfeeding mamas and Lactation Professionals that help support them.

Breastfeeding is hard work but so rewarding. I feel so blessed to be both a nursing mom and Lactation Consultant. I have learned so much this year and can’t wait to see how much I will grow by next year.

To all the nursing moms… you got this 💪

To all the Lactation Consultants… THANK YOU! We do more than work. We are a ministry and change lives each and every day.

As many of you know, I am such a supporter of chiropractic care for newborns and infants.

Joseph was born with a few issues and helped us tremendously!

He was a 5 pounder, very tense from a NICU stay, and had difficulty controlling sugars and temps. He also was a very poor feeder and would click, leak, and clamp down.

He did have a lip and tongue tie but the adjustments helped as a newborn and we chose to wait on the correction.

I noticed lately that he still has some restrictions at 8 months so we decided to get the correction for his tongue and lip before it becomes more of an issue later in life.

You cant have knee surgery without rehab, and we cant have tongue/lip tie corrections without bodywork, so of course I went to our chiropractor!

Joseph is now 8 months and loved his visit!

Benefits for chiropractic adjustments before surgery include:
- prepares body for surgery
- decreases inflammation and infection risk
- releases muscle tension
- improved neurologic response to treatment
- Increased endurance and flexibility to surgical area
- Improved would healing
And so much more!

We are scheduled for the correction on Thursday so we went in for an adjustment today to prepare. I also plan to take him post surgery as well and will keep you posted!!

My Story

Welcome to Mommy Did You Know, a safe place to discuss all your pregnancy, postpartum, and breastfeeding questions! Our goal is “to build stronger families through education, support, and encouragement.” There are so many online blogs right now, but not all of them give factual information to their readers. A lot post recommendations that people want to hear, but not what they need to hear.

I promise that the information I post on my website is based on research and evidence. As a mother of two small children, their safety is important to me. Also, as a maternity nurse of more than 7 years, it is my passion to educate my patients so they can make informed decisions.

One day I was looking for at home lactation consultant jobs online, and found someone who wanted to offer me good money to “verify” the articles on his website. Basically he just wanted my name and license on the website. Looking through the articles, I noticed that a lot of the articles had old practices or wrong information. Unfortunately, the owner declined all of my recommendations for improvement. His response, “I am paying you well, can’t you just say you read them and they are correct?” Needless to say, I felt very uncomfortable about the situation, and declined his offer. I decided to start my own blog, and my own consulting business. This way, I know that what I am promoting is the TRUTH. Research is ever changing, and you can never just believe what you read online. Best practice is guided by research. My patients and their families DESERVE the best care possible.
