Monthly News On Products Promoting Healthcare Cost Transparency And Healthy Living Tips

Members of MPB.Health plans that include Sedera cost sharing will be required to re-enroll and will be receiving a communication from Sedera explaining how to re-enroll to maintain their membership. Those receiving emails must re-enroll by the date indicated in the communication to maintain their membership. The Sedera emails will be coming out on a phased basis: members currently experiencing a need will receive communications first. Members receiving these communications should consider changing to one of the programs that include Zion Healthsharing unless they’re adversely affected by Zion’s pre-existing condition limitations.

Members of MPB.Health programs that utilize Zion Healthsharing who joined their program before April 1, 2022 will start making share contributions on an age-banded status effective October 1 (those who joined on or after April 1 already are age-banded). These members will be receiving emails from MPB.Health, if they have not already received one, explaining the change and available options.

Once you receive the applicable email communication, please call us at 786-970-0740 (cell) or 877-734-3884 (land) for help in understanding or making any changes, as well as exploring any available alternatives.

The second article contains excerpts from a recent publication from the National Centers for Comprehensive and Integrative Health (NCCIH) about whole person health, and the third article contains the most recent resources published by the government concerning protections against surprise medical bills and making complaints about surprise billing.

Monthly News On Products Promoting Healthcare Cost Transparency And Healthy Living Tips

As many as 44% of people in insured medical plans may be deterred from obtaining health care services because of price uncertainty. Medical Cost Sharing plans like the Care Plus, Secure, and Direct programs provided through MPowering Benefits utilize proprietary pricing mechanisms and provide a level of customer support not typically provided by insured health plans.

Medical cost sharing plans are particularly attractive to people who are willing to research pricing and take an active role in managing their health: people who aren't so oriented are discouraged from enrolling in these types of plans. In addition, we’re members of the Free Market Medical Association (FMMA) which focuses on price transparency; one of the services FMMA makes is available is the capability of member providers to post prices for services on their website.

The second article describes what is meant by whole person health and contains a link to further information provided through the National Institute for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH).

The recent mass killings have brought increased attention to treatment of mental illness. The third article in this month’s newsletter presents some facts about mental illness and discusses both National Mental Awareness Month and Su***de Prevention Month. Members of the Care Plus, Secure, and Direct programs offered through MPowering Benefits have 24/7/365 access to virtual and live counseling for help with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and addiction with access for up to 12 in-person sessions per member/per year.
