A parent's main purpose is to nurture them and unconditionally love them through out their lives Tough love with addicts boundaries are part of love. again for their entire lives.

When tragedy comes knocking on your Door informing you 2 of your son's died.. You go into intense shock no longer having purpose..Thus, no matter the difficulty re inventing purpose is Vital

those who have lost adult children and refused to reinvent purpose are the one's who begin to experience chronic pain, severe depression and a host of other serious health problems.

the other group who do reinvent their lives and find purpose do much better which aids to longevity.

However be patient with yourself. Yes, one can reinvent oneself and find some kind of Purpose. Takes a long time and determination for the new purpose to really have real meaning. Just never give up.
