Can you hear your mother?
Can you see your mother?
Can you touch your mother?
Some may think they can't.
Because of this,
Because ot that.
Some may think they won't.
Because of her " "
And so they don't.
Know that is all true.
But if only you knew.
It was their first life, too.
Their first love, too.
Their first and last breath, too.
Mother,
Even though you are gone,
I hear you in that song.
The one you used to sing,
Every morning.
Tapping your toe to the beat,
I'll never forget that treat.
You taught me the rhythm of life.
To ignore their strife.
I see you in that car,
The one we used to drive so far.
I feel you in every moment,
Knowing that every second is potent.
Potent to create my future.
A future that you would be proud of.
Even though you may not be here,
You are always near.
They took you too soon.
Every night, I look up at the moon.
Knowing you will never be forgotten.
Come this September,
it'll have been 20 years since I heard your voice.
Since I saw you beautiful smile.
Since I got to hug you.
Love you, and tell you,
how proud I am of the mother you were to me.
The wife you were to dad.
The sister you were to my aunts and uncle.
The aunt you were to all the cousins.
The daughter you were to grandma.
The friend you were to so many people.
Not only did you love your life,
You were a mother to anyone who came in contact with you.
You were gracious.
Gorgeous.
Straight up magnetic!
If only I could tell you now,
How much you have always meant to me.
All I can do is move forward with this life you gave me,
And continue to be the person you and dad raised me to be.
Thank you
🙏
I love you forever.
Your daughter,
Jessica ❤️
