Dharma Psychotherapy: James M Del Duca

Dharma Psychotherapy: James M Del Duca My independent practice is devoted to helping patients through Jungian-centered, Buddhist dharma augmented, and spirituality supported depth psychotherapy.

Psychotherapy comes from ancient Greek and means "soul-healing". We heal mind, body, and spirit. Psychotherapy translated from the ancient Greek means Soul-healing. Soul-healing is a complex process which addresses mental, emotional, and spiritual dysfunction and imbalance. I am an independent psychotherapist and do not practice within the conventional allopathic system. I learned my art from mentors who practiced Jungian depth psychotherapy, buddhist mind training disciplines and Native American ceremonialism. Before opening my practice in Bozeman, Montana I was a registered psychotherapist in the state of Colorado practicing in Boulder. I have successfully treated patients who suffered from depression, anxiety, mental confusion, substance misuse, and other conditions arising out of inter-generational (epigenetic) and personal trauma. I need for prospective patients to understand that I am not, and have no desire to be: a licensed psychiatrist, licensed psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed addiction counselor, or any other sort of state licensed provider. I also do not accept insurance, but I do have a sliding fee scale to accommodate patients in financial difficulty.

This is important. Untreated trauma may lead to a host of disorders and dysfunctions.

A small step in the good direction. Of course oppression, trauma, and exploitation are primary causes of mental illness for many people!

Leading scholars write that psychiatric disturbances are social in nature and that current treatments often cause more harm than good, highlighting alternative social approaches to mental health.

I am convinced that drug therapy should be a last resort and not the current go-to for treating mental illness.

The scientific evidence is of social/psychological, not biological, causation: negative environmental conditions, not disease.

Other people can be mirrors to our own psyche. When we react to another person we are reacting to our own subconscious. This mirroring is a very useful tool if we look and are able to understand what is happening.
