If you are an outdoors aficinonado or you have a demanding physical job then these series on snacks is for you! This is not a time to restrict calories but instead making sure you are having enough of them to sustain your activity. You need plenty of calories packed in "small capsules". Those small capsules are your dried fruits and nuts! Depending on the type of activity you may need more dried fruits than nuts but overall they are a great combination. These foods would not only provide calories but other compounds to ramp your energy, reduce fatigue, and aid recovery.

This meal accidentally turned out like cookie monster😄. Made from three different types of purple potatoes but just one of them with purple flesh. So yes, we love potatoes! They are an excellent source of vitamin C, potassium, vitamin B6 -and purple varieties specially contain higher amount of antioxidants. They also make a great meal after a workout. Portion and cooking technique are the secrets to enjoying potatoes.

In celebration of the openning of the olympics we share a post on stamina and endurance but of the brain! Your brain is active even when you are sleeping, why not give it what it needs to keep it sharp and sustain the everyday challenges of life? Omega-3s are essential for proper brain functioning and you can only get it from food. Fish and seafood are great sources.
